Griselda is a proud Salinas native, born and raised in the Salinas Valley. As a young adult, Griselda discovered a passion for helping others in the realm of community health. Griselda received a bachelor’s degree in Collaborative Health & Human Services with a concentration in Community Health. Griselda previously worked in the public health setting providing health education and case management for both the public and private sector, throughout Monterey County.
Griselda recently joined the local Blue Zones Project Monterey County team as the Organization Lead for Schools, her role is to build partnerships and ensure meaningful collaborations to optimize school environments and better promote physical, social and emotional health. BZP policies and programs help make the healthier choices easier with evidence-based strategies and programs implemented by local schools to improve the well-being of school employees, students and their families.
Griselda’s Power 9 is Loved Ones First! Family is everything to her. Griselda has a loving and supportive husband of 20+ years. Griselda and her husband are proud parents of two children. Her eldest is a compassionate, smart, & handsome son who serves in the U.S. Air Force. Her youngest is a beautiful, caring and fearless daughter that will be graduating from high school and pursing a higher education in 2020. Griselda’s family loves animals, they have 3 dogs: Misty, Canela and Kai, 1 cat named Thor and a Tortoise.
