Salinas, CA, 93905
The Alisal Virtual Academy is an “Alternative School of Choice” and opened during the 2022-23 school year. It is open to any Kindergarten through 6th grade students in the Alisal Union School District AND Monterey County. A V A is very different from Remote Instruction. For starters, A V A has a physical presence, so when you need to come talk to a teacher or administrator, you have a place to go. Imagine a virtual school but you still have in-person connections to the educators in your child’s life. A V A students get new equipment, including larger Chromebooks to make the teaching & learning more interactive. Also, to make online learning as engaging as possible, we have a more hands-on approach to learning through the Experiential Learning model.
